Discovering the island of Yeu
For this “discovery” experience, we suggest you to cast off and embark in Saint Gilles Croix de Vie for a one-hour crossing to theisland of Yeu.
We advise you to opt for the first departure at 9:00 am to fully enjoy this day.
You can choose to park in a free parking lot near the pier.
- The “Ile d’Yeu” landing stage parking lot (about 500 meters from the landing stage, Avenue Georges Pompidou).
- The parking lot of the Salines school (Rue des Paludiers, 600 meters from the pier).

Good to know:
To discover this pearl of the Atlantic, this beautiful and exotic rock, the best is to rent a bicycle. You won’t have much difficulty in finding one as there are many rental companies, but to avoid any unpleasant surprises, we advise you to reserve your frames in advance.

Tour of the island by bike :
The tour of the island is 28 kilometers long and it takes about 4 hours and a half to complete, including breaks. This circuit does not present any major difficulty and if it is not marked the main points are well indicated.

A land of contrasts par excellence, everyone agrees that the Ile d’Yeu is like a paradise on earth. As you read these lines, you may be thinking that we are making a big deal of it and that we are singularly lacking in objectivity.

It is difficult to describe in a few words the face of the Ile d’Yeu.
This multifaceted island has preserved its wild and authentic character.
Here, there are more bicycles than cars and the noise of the engines is largely covered by the song of the birds… This island seems out of time, as if the hands of its clock had frozen in the 80s. The Ile d’Yeu gives you a wonderful feeling of freedom.
It’s just a great place to recharge your batteries and decompress.

Lovers of beautiful beaches, you will be spoilt for choice. Large sandy beaches, more intimate coves, fresh turquoise water, you choose your postcard decor and lie down wherever you please.
As far as we are concerned, we have a slight preference for the beach of Anse des Soux.
White sand, clear water, surrounded by rocks and cliffs, this idyllic setting has everything to please us. And we’re willing to bet you’ll love it too.

The Port de la Meule, is a small enclave on the southwest coast of the island of Yeu.
This port was built in the 11th century and offers a sublime view of the coast.
