Good to know:

The best way to discover this pearl of the Atlantic, this exotic and magnificent rock, is to hire bikes. You won't have much trouble finding one, as there are plenty of hire companies, but to avoid any unpleasant surprises, we advise you to book your bikes in advance.
A little coffee on the harbour and off you go!

Tour of the island by bike :

The tour of the island is 28 kilometres long and takes around 4 hours 30 minutes to complete, including breaks. There are no major difficulties on this route, and although it is not signposted, the main points are well indicated.

Suggestion for a short cycle tour:

This 14 km circuit is an interesting alternative for spending a short day on the Yeu Island. You can find all the information about this walk by clicking on the link.

What's on :

A land of contrasts par excellence, everyone agrees that the Ile d'Yeu is like a paradise on earth. As you read these lines, you may be thinking that we're making a big deal of it and that we're singularly lacking in objectivity.

We'll be happy to talk about it when you get back...

It's difficult to describe the face of the Ile d'Yeu in just a few words, but this multi-faceted island has managed to preserve its wild and authentic character, with more bicycles than cars and the noise of the engines largely drowned out by the birdsong... This island seems out of time, as if the hands of its clock had frozen in the 80s. The Ile d'Yeu gives you a wonderful feeling of freedom and is just the place to recharge your batteries and unwind.

Our favourites and good addresses :

If you love beautiful beaches, you'll be spoilt for choice. From big sandy beaches to more intimate coves and fresh turquoise water, you can choose your postcard setting and lie back wherever you please.
As far as we're concerned, we have a slight preference for the beach at Anse des Soux.
White sand, clear water, surrounded by rocks and cliffs, this idyllic setting has everything to please us. And we're willing to bet you'll love it too.

Other nice beaches... Plage des Sabias, Plage de la Belle maison, Plage des Sapins...

Le Port de la Meule, is a small enclave on the south-west coast of the island of Yeu.
This port, which was built in the 11th century, offers a sublime view of the coast.
Not to be missed.

The old castle, is the island's medieval site. You can take a guided tour to find out all about this fortress. Find out more by clicking on the link.

Chez Martin" creperie snack bar:
This restaurant is an institution on the island. If you're hungry for authenticity and simplicity, this is the place for you. On the menu, you'll find delicious galettes and crêpes, mussels and above all... you'll have the chance to taste the island's speciality, the famous 'patagos'.
A pure delight!
