While the Val de Vie is known for its natural side, it's also for the fishing that travellers come to spend a few days here. Our small 4-star campsite is set in the heart of unspoilt nature. Fans of wide open spaces and greenery will feel right at home here. But those who will love our location are first and foremost fishing enthusiasts. We're just a few minutes from the town of Apremont (two minutes on foot to be precise). And who says Apremont, says lac d'Apremont. The latter is a mecca for fishing in the Vendée.

The Lac d'Apremont is a place of relaxation, a haven of peace where the gentle way of life rhymes with calm and tranquillity. Covering an area of 1.67 km², you can enjoy a wide range of activities here, but it also offers excellent fishing conditions.

Fishing is often said to be the ideal way to relieve stress. This outdoor activity has its share of benefits. As a fisherman, you need to be able to sit still for long minutes before something happens, so it's a great time to relax. Get away from it all, give way to your emotions and leave your day-to-day concerns behind. As well as relaxing, fishing is also good for your physical health.

On Lake Apremont, you'll find many species. You can fish for roach, zander, black bass or carp. Don't hesitate to take a proud photo of yourself with your catch!

Fishing on foot

As the camping at Lac d'Apremont is close to the beaches of the Vendée, you'll be able to go fishing on foot. There are many good spots for this activity. The Boisvinet and Pelle à Porteau beaches in Saint Gilles Croix de Vie. At low tide, the rocks are uncovered and give way to shrimp, periwinkles and many other shellfish.
At Saint Jean de Monts, the large beach will allow you to fish for clams, mussels, oysters and pine nuts.
High spot for foot fishing in the Vendée: the passage du Gois. At low tide, many fishermen gather to scrape the sand and collect clams.

Sea fishing

During your stay at our campsite, try your hand at sea fishing.
Saint Gilles Croix de Vie, a seaside resort known for its pretty fishing port. Many boats set out to sea every day. Some sailors offer you the chance to go out with them to discover their trade, but also to enjoy a nice walk.
